IRLP
designer Dave Cameron, VE7LTD signed on East Coast Reflector 921 on October
18, 2001. This celebrated IRLP's 200th node install. It's Red Hat Linux-based server resides at the offices of
Sungard
in Research Triangle Park. Jack Thorpe, WA0ERX is the Reflector 921 node
administrator and is responsible for helping us secure the server and bandwidth
at Sungard, formerly Inflow. IRLP nodes that want to use Ref921 should follow these guidelines.
You can see who is connected to Ref921 here.
Initial tests conducted
October 18th revealed excellent throughput performance, with 15 international
nodes connecting simultaneously, using only 500-600k of bandwidth out of
our potential 4 meg allocation. Because of its overnight success, we
carried traffic internationally with Boy Scout Jamboree over the air (JOTA) special
event on Ref. 921 for the weekend of 10/20/01. The bandwidth capability of
the East Coast Reflector is much like that of Reflector 2 in Denver. At present, Raleigh hams may find node 4260 (our 146.775 MHz Raleigh repeater) and/or node 4270 (our UHF regional link system) connected to Reflector 921 to monitor its activity. Feel free to carry on conversations with other connected IRLP nodes. Node Operators, please feel free to contact us to coordinate Special Events usage of Reflector 921. Please direct questions and comments to us via email at .
